New Year, New Goals for 2026

Happy New Year!

No matter where you live a new year, and eventually spring, comes new goals and new beginnings. We had a really rough end to last year, with the loss of family members and the illness that came from that stress. We are still recovering.

Despite all of these setbacks and unfortunate events, I have decided that we are going to start the year strong with new goals and experiences for my family and my budding business.

A quick thank you:

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by my website to take a peek…

New Personal Goals:

Last year, I struggled with getting personal projects done due to adjusting to life with a new baby. This year, I plan to be more intentional. Some of my goals include continuing my weight loss journey (I’ve lost 20 lbs since August 2025 without GLP-1 drugs), decluttering my home, committing to #NoBuy2026 for non-essential purchases, and taking the girls to the park more often – whether that’s to draw or to just enjoy the outdoors.

New Business Goals:

This past year, I did a few things that genuinely scared me: I made a YouTube channel and posted my first video. I also shared content on TikTok and Instagram. Of course, these weren’t too fruitful and were very nerve wracking but they were essential first steps. Video content is still stressful for me, but I’m realizing that perfectionism might be the real hurdle. A new goal has emerged from that: don’t worry about it being perfect — just get it done.

I’ve also been thinking about starting a painting series. I have several ideas, and narrowing them down has been a challenge. I may end up drawing (pun intended) straws — or posting a poll on Instagram to help decide.

I also plan on blogging more without the use of Chatgpt. Yes, admittedly, I used chatgpt on my last blogpost. I want my writing to be my own, even during stressful times. If I have the time, I’ll write but if I don’t, I won’t force it. I plan on talking more about artists that inspire me, about other personal projects, and about art studies and resources.

If any of these goals resonate with you and you’d like to support a single mom, feel free to stop by every second Friday of the month. I’ll be sharing blog posts and whatever else I have around that time.

I hope y’all have a blessed new year and, again, thank you for stopping by!
